Let’s read learn about kyōka by reading the following materials:
– Selected passages from kyōka manual 狂歌初心抄 (1790), published by Tsutajū. Original at National Diet Library.
– Selected poems from 新美人合自筆鏡 (1784). Original at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Kyōka composed by Tsuta Karamaru 蔦唐丸 from 狂月坊 (1789; original at National Diet Library), 寿詞石腸児 (1796; original at National Diet Library), and a handwritten poem from catalogue exhibition Suntory Museum 2010.

One group will present to others their semi-diplomatic transcription and notes (a dice will decide which group presents!)

We will finish by reading the publicity blurb for the kyōka manual 狂歌浜のきさご (1783) that will be used on Saturday.
