The programme this year focuses on Entertainment and Entertainers in Early Modern Japan. We will be reading, transcribing, and translating a wide range of sources in wabun and sōrōbun that allow us to delve into different aspects of book making and book consumption in the Edo period. We will continue our collaboration with AI-powered transcription platform Minna de honkoku and welcome thought-provoking guest speakers. The programme features also a hands-on workshop with rakugo master Tatekawa Shinoharu. Discover more in the links below.
